Grandfather Clocks
If you want to own one, you can visit www.1-800-4clocks.com and choose at their wide selection of different brands of granfather clocks like the Howard Miller brand. If you want to know more and get some ideas on what these clocks are, there is a blog just for this purpose. I like the article that I have read in that blog which is titled One Grandfather Clock, One Purchase. Buying one is like an investment. There are things to consider to get just the right one for your home.

Go Forth...
Are you financially fit?
As I grow older, I become very aware of how hard life can be especially when you are financially unsecure. Right now, I am doing some simple planning for my future. Of course we don't know what will happen in the future but now that there's something I can do, I am doing my best to prepare for it. There are so many things to think about like retirement, major purchases, maintenance, savings, insurances, health conditions, etc and they all involve money. Bills.com has so much information anybody can use for future planning. After the test, it even give you solutions and ways to improve or be in a better shape financially. Take the test and see for yourself.

Great American Seafood Cook off
Crabs in Coconut Milk
5 small or 2 large crabs
cloves garlic
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 small can or 2/3 cup of coconut milk
1 hot chili pepper
salt and pepper to taste
To cook it, steam the crabs first. Set it aside. When cooled, remove the shells and cut them in half. In a skillet or pan, saute garlic and ginger in oil over medium heat until light brown. Add the coconut milk, hot chilli pepper, salt and pepper to taste. Let it boil then add crab pieces and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
The only thing that I would like to change in this recipe is for the addition of onions. I would love to have onions in this recipe to make it better. Anyway, I know that this is such a simple recipe but who knows what other people have done to this to make it the best there is. I'm excited to see the Fifth Annual Great American Seafood Cook off to be held at New Orleans in Aug. 2-3. Chefs from different states all over the US will fight for the title of Kind of American Seafood. Good luck to them all! Here in America, seafood is very abundant and also managed in a sustainable manner. I am impressed on how the government implement marine system to trully protect the marine resources of this country. You can really be assured that whatever seafood you are eating are safe and of good quality.
Stressed
by: Thena Smith
I'm feeling rather sassy today
Nothing can frighten me!
Nothing is going to cause me stress
I'm as strong as I can be!!
No one is going to get me down
Or cause me to whimper and whine
You have to treat me with respect
I've earned it, it is mine!
I'm going to tackle all those tasks
That seem to overwhelm
There's a new woman steering this ship-
A toughie at the helm.
I'm - oh what is that awful sound?
That ringing in my ear?
Oh, it's my alarm clock going off
Time to wake up, I fear!!!
Isn't this a cute poem? What can you say? wink*

Want to be in IT
Looking at Cisco online made me realize that there are tons of certificate courses out there. I don't have any clue as to what I will be taking but it's nice to read a lot of information in the site to give me at least a little background. The Cisco certification is available to many countries including the Philippines. The first step would be to take the CCENT, Certified Entry Network Technician then to the three levels of certification namely: Associate, Professional and Expert. The expert certification or CCIE is the IT Industry's most respected IT certification. It would be great to attain this level. If you are interested, just visit cisco.com and find out more of what they can offer you to become the best networking professional that you can be.

One Step at A Time
One Step At A Time
sung by: Jordin Sparks
Hurry up and wait
So close, but so far away
Everything that you've always dreamed of
Close enough for you to taste
But you just can't touch
You wanna show the world, but no one knows your name yet
Wonder when and where and how you're gonna make it
You know you can if you get the chance
In your face as the door keeps slamming
Now you're feeling more and more frustrated
And you're getting all kind of impatient waiting
[Chorus:]
We live and we learn to take
One step at a time
There's no need to rush
It's like learning to fly
Or falling in love
It's gonna happen and it's
Supposed to happen that we
Find the reasons why
One step at a time
You believe and you doubt
You're confused, you got it all figured out
Everything that you always wished for
Could be yours, should be yours, would be yours
If they only knew
You wanna show the world, but no one knows your name yet
Wonder when and where and how you're gonna make it
You know you can if you get the chance
In your face as the door keeps slamming
Now you're feeling more and more frustrated
And you're getting all kind of impatient waiting
[ One Step At A Time lyrics found on http://www.completealbumlyrics.com ]
[Chorus]
We live and we learn to take
One step at a time
There's no need to rush
It's like learning to fly
Or falling in love
It's gonna happen and it's
Supposed to happen that we
Find the reasons why
One step at a time
When you can't wait any longer
But there's no end in sight
When you need to find the strength
It's the faith that makes you stronger
The only way you get there
Is one step at a time
We live and we learn to take
One step at a time
There's no need to rush
It's like learning to fly
Or falling in love
It's gonna happen and it's
Supposed to happen that we
Find the reasons why
One step at a time
We live and we learn to take
One step at a time
There's no need to rush
It's like learning to fly
Or falling in love

I am so craving for....
Ice Cream! Last night, I bought Eskimo bars although I already have a tub of Walgreens' Premium Rocky Road Ice cream in the fridge. Probably this is brought about by the hot weather outside although we often have showers in the late afternoons. This one has a similarity with the Selecta premium ice bar back home. Are they still sold in the market today? Or maybe this Nestle product is already available in the Philippine market? I love it! One bar is enough to satisfy my craving tonight. Next time, I might try the cone variety. I still have four bars left so maybe I'll buy this weekend. Don't ask me about the calories. I don't mind about it right now. lol! So good!

My Bestfriend's Wedding...
It's still fresh from my mind those college days. She and I and another close friend were always together although I can say that Dianne and I were closer. We met during my sophomore year. We were classmates in one of our major subjects and we had the same course of study- BS Accountancy - at University of Mindanao. She was a working student, I was not. Both of us were scholars and that's what impressed me about her the most. She maintained her standing as one of the top students in our batch and actually graduated as Cum Laude. She then became a CPA a year after taking and passing the board exam just once. She's a tough lady, I can tell you. hehehe... I'm so glad and proud to have a friend like her. Now, she has gone a long way, being one of the higher bosses in her company. For years that we have been apart, we still keep in touch. Truly miss her!

Headhunters of Corporate America
Headhunters, internal or a third party, are common in corporate America. An internal recruiter works in a company particularly in HR while a third party is an independent contact between the client and the candidates. Now, one of the respected names in the industry of recruiting high-caliber top management people is Dennis C Carey. He's an expert recruiter who had helped in recruiting CEO's and directors for Fortune 500 companies.

Mama Mia! - the movie - a review
Who hasn't seen Mama Mia! yet? Well, if you are a woman like me, this movie is for you. I highly recommend it. It's really worth to watch. Why?
First of all, it's all about women and love. Whatever I like in a movie, it's all there. It's funny, it's all about us women and finding love, it's full of singing and dancing which I knew the songs so well and first of all, it is contemporary so the lessons we can learn from the movie is applicable to today's times. I don't care what negative things people say about it. It's awesome! It's not my job to critic but I went to the theaters to enjoy it and be entertained. And I did. A lot! If I was watching inside the house and not at the theater, I would have danced and sang with the characters in the movie.
By the way, I was surprised to see Merryl Streep do so well. Also, Pierce Brosnan wasn't bad at all. He was good, too. Now, this young lady Amanda Seyfried is a hit to me. She sings very well, looks really pretty and knows how to act in my opinion. Every thing on the movie is magical. And hey don't forget the wonderful settings and view! I would love to go to Greece just to see how beautiful the place is. I don't mind watching it again and I'm sure it would be with other girlfriends at the comfort of home with martini glasses in hand, dancing and singing our hearts out! lol!

Halloween Costume
Anyway, last year, my co-worker showed me a picture of herself and her hubby in a Halloween party. I forgot the name of her costume but it was very creative. She was like a barbie doll but with two daggers protruding from her body, of course with blood oozing from those places where the daggers are. That's when I got interested to look online and search for that perfect costume for me. Now, I stumbled upon Costume Cauldron. See this one? I like it! I'm not into the gory style of costume. This one is soooo sexy but very elegant. If I can only dare to wear it. I will need to gather up all my courage to be able to do so. What about you? Would you?
What about this one? It's called Maid Marian. Surely, I can wear this at the office. Isn't it very feminine and classic? To get the perfect look, I would need to curl my hair, apply some make up and act like a lady from the Renaissance period. I'm excited! Oh, maybe I can still find a better costume than this one. There's so many selections to choose from. I can dress up like a cool celebrity or naughty or very scary. Whatever you want to portray, looks like they have it!

Vibrel for Women
Hibiscus - Gumamela
This is another picture of a flower which I know most Filipinas and people in the tropics are familiar with. Yes, this is a "Gumamela" (Philippine name) or Hibiscus which is a shrub that is being used as an ornamental plant. It comes in many colors and I was glad that I was able to take a picture of a pink one. It is also considered a medicinal plant.
I researched a little bit and found out that among its uses are treatment for:
Bronchitis
coughs
fever
dysentery
urinary and bladder infections
high blood pressure
constipation
headaches
boils
swelling
abscesses
mumps
I have tried it when I was a kid for mumps, coughs and headaches. It was very effective.
Trust & Asset Management
Now before I start saving for my retirement, I need to know what my options are since there are tons of ways to do it. There are so many financial institutions that are more than willing to help you achieve it. That includes Northern Trust, a company dedicated to provide the best investment management and asset administration to corporations, institutions and affluent families. For corporations or family businesses, Northern Trust can help in choosing the best business checking account that will give the best value for the company. If I have the money, I would hire a financial advisor to help me make the most of my money and lead me to a better, brighter future.

Wake up, sleepy head …
Without using the word Folgers finish this line: The best part of waking up is….
* Due to work, waking up early in the morning at 5 am became a habit. I don't even use an alarm clock anymore. My body just tells me that "hey, it's time to wake up!". Anyway, I know I am a night owl. My morning routine is preparing to go to work, eat breakfast ( depending on the mood so it varies) and it takes me about an hour to prepare. I usually wake up in a good mood everyday until I realize that I need to hurry up to go to work. Lol!
Are you a morning person? What time do you typically get up in the morning? Walk us through your morning routine (what do you normally have for breakfast, how long does it take you to get ready to leave the house in the morning, etc.) Do you wake up cheeryPublish Post, or does it take you a little while to wake up and function normally?

I had never had a summer romance. I think it would be a perfect summer romance if it happened in the beach. hehehe...
2. What's your favorite summer themed love story or movie?
Hmm, I can't recall right now.
3. Do you find the seashore romantic or played out?
I'm not sure about this question.
4. The boardwalk by the ocean, is it fun and entertaining, a great place to meet people?

It's too crowded so I don't go there. I just love doing a leisurely walk at the beach.

Student Travel
Anyhow, I've seen a lot of student tours. There was one time in Universal Studios. The students were speaking in a different language. How can the school organized such a big party travel? I heard a co-worker of mine talking about her daughter participating her school's student travel Europe program. One particular company that provides educational tours for students around the world is Hemisphere Travel. They provide international and US tour packages with the guaranty of meeting or beating other offers with the same tour packages. They even have a tour for Broadway! Nice!
True Love
True Love
by: John Glare
True love is a sacred flame
That burns eternally,
And none can dim its special glow
Or change its destiny.
True love speaks in tender tones
And hears with gentle ear,
True love gives with open heart
And true love conquers fear.
True love makes no harsh demands
It neither rules nor binds,
And true love holds with gentle hands
The hearts that it entwines.
