Personal Growth website

Today I stumbled upon a website that talked about travel and personal growth. I was moved by the story shared by Axel G in his website. It's about his travel to South Africa and the reflections he had from it. I've have not traveled to another country except here in the states. I came from the Philippines and I know what life is over there so I can totally relate to Axel's realization. Just as he was affected by his African experience, I, too can say that I have grown through the few years I have lived here. Try to visit his website and you might find the way to your personal growth.

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom. And knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him.He handed his son a beautiful wrapped gift box.Curious, but somehow disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold.Angrily, he raised his voice to his father and said, "With all your money you give me a Bible?"And stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possesions to his son.He needed to come home immediately and take care of his things. When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He begun to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and begun to turn the pages. His father had carefully underlined a verse, Matt. 7:11, "And if ye, being evil know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Heavenly Father which is in heaven, give to those who ask Him?"

As he reads those words, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words...PAID IN FULL.
How many times do we miss God's blessing because they are not packaged as we expected?

I trust you enjoyed this. Pass it on to others. Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not; but remember that what you now have was once among the things you only hoped for...
PLS. SEND THIS TO ATLEAST FIVE PEOPLE SO AS TO LET THIS GREAT LESSON FLOW AROUND.

I'm guilty of being impatient too like the man in this story. As young as I am, I still have to learn so many things in life including being patient and being hopeful that God already knows what's in my heart and mind. I don't want to complain of anything but sometimes I forget that I have received so much blessings in life compared to what I had before. There are blessings in disguise and only time will uncover it for me. I should always think that things happen for a reason and God's will will always be the best for me. I just need to be patient, be content and see all the things that come my way in a positive view.

I'm tagging nobody. If you like the story, please pass it on. Thank you.

Criss Angel

Have you heard about Criss Angel before? Have you seen him on tv? Not all know or heard of him but most already are familiar with him. He's very popular due to the tricks he played on people which were shown on television. One couldn't help but be amazed at his talent. How can he do those things? Does he really have magic? Or is he so brilliant and expert on tricks that one can't see how he did it?

There are other so called magicians who are really good at their craft. But how does Criss differ from them? To be honest, he's the only one I know that does magical tricks. I don't know any other because I'm not into those things until I saw Criss on tv. The raging bull, steam roller trick, car crash escape and many others makes you wonder how on earth did he do it? How can he escape? What tricks and escapes is he going to show when he appears in Luxor Hotel in Las Vegas. Also, Cirque Du Soleil will have a new performance featuring CRISS ANGEL which is called CRISS ANGEL Believe. I have never seen him perform in person. I'm interested to watch it for free? Are you? Just text 'Believe' on your mobile phones to 22122 to win 2 free tickets to this show. Isn't that cool? I'm going to start texting now.

Orchids

I have always admired orchids since I was a child. When we went to Asheville, North Carolina at the famous grand Biltmore Estate, I was able to take a picture of this gorgeous orchid inside their enclosed garden. I remember my Mom's orchids which I already mentioned in my prior posts. I am totally sure that we have this kind of orchid. I have seen a much better kind and lovelier orchids than this. It's kind of nostalgic whenever I see these flowers.

I remember so well, I like to watch my Mom in silence while she lovingly waters her orchids early in the morning. She talked to them believing that they will grow and bloom better which I think really worked. We always have beautiful blooms everyday. I guess partly due to the eggshells she puts on the roots instead of throwing those empty shells in the garbage. She was so proud of them. I saw how happy my Mom was at that time. I miss those days. I hope I can have flowers too in my own little backyard someday. Dreams can come true....
